Telehealth Services
Telehealth is a service I have used at times throughout my practice. As of March 10, 2020, I will be using these services on an ongoing basis until the COVID 19 crisis is managed. While face to face sessions may seem ideal, research has shown that virtual therapy sessions can be just as effective and in some cases, more effective than in-office visits. The Telehealth platform I will be using is through my electronic software program, Simple Practice. This is a HIPPA compliant platform designed for the purpose of therapy sessions.
If you have not done so already, I will send you a letter describing this process, a Consent for Telehealth form, and an Emergency Contact Permission form. Information about this process, your rights and confidentiality is included in the Therapist-Client Agreement that you signed. To begin using Telehealth, please download the Telehealth by Simple Practice app on your phone or computer with a camera. The app has a blue background, with a white speech bubble and blue video camera. Create an account and you are ready to go! Once our appointment is scheduled, you will receive a link to our session. A few minutes prior to our session, log into your app and I will begin the video session.
I am committed to provide you therapy in a private and secure setting. Please try to find a location where no one can hear us and your session is private. Headphones, earbuds, Airpods, etc. are helpful.
Please know that Telehealth services are always an option for you, in the event you are ill, injured, cannot leave work, find childcare or other reasons! I will notify you once I have returned to my office if you prefer to resume in-office sessions. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility during this challenging time!
Note: Audio calls only are considered Telehealth as well, however, audio + visual is recommended.
